Indoor Air Quality
Heres What Youre Breathing.
The average person breathes 3,400 gallons of air each day.
Unfortunately, air isnt all youre inhaling. Mold spores,
pollen, bacteria, dust and other particles exist in virtually all
indoor air. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the air
inside a home can be 2-5 times more polluted than air outside.
Duct Cleaning
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems have been
shown to act as a collection source for a variety of contaminants
that have the potential to affect health, such as mold, fungi,
bacteria, and very small particles of dust. The removal of such
contaminants from the HVAC system and home should be considered as
one component in an overall plan to improve indoor air quality.
How It Works
Initially a Kosco trained Indoor Air Quality consultant will visit
your home to inspect your ductwork cleaning requirements. This will
give you the opportunity ask specific questions and understand the
benefits of having your ductwork routinely cleaned. An estimate will
be provided for approval after inspection.
The cleaning process is performed by professionally trained Kosco
technicians using stateof-the-art environmentally friendly equipment.
The duct system is put under negative pressure with a powerful
outdoor vacuum. Small holes are placed into existing ductwork where
various brushes are inserted into the ducts to dislodge debris, which
flows to the vacuum. Once complete all holes are capped for future
cleanings. Since vacuum equipment exhausts particles outside of the
house, and inside-exhaust systems are fitted with HEPA filters this
process is clean and safe. As a final step Kosco offers FREE
sanitizing of your ductwork, a non-residual sanitizing agent is
applied to destroy any bacterial contaminants that may exist.
Kosco suggests that the homeowner cleans or replaces air filters once
a month for improved air quality and efficiency. |
